
The
Pertabghur Tea estate is located on the North Bank
in the Sonitpur district and forms a part of the Bishnauth Tea Company.
Established in 1863 it was originally "Pertappur", a kingdom
ruled by King Ramachandra. At the time big embankments known as
"Ghurs" were built to protect the city from invaders. Hence the
name "Pertabghur"
